Laut MacBidouille befragt eine Consulting Firma im Auftrag Apples französische iPod Kunden nach ihrer Kaufmotivation usw, aber ebenso nach gewünschten Funktionen, wie WMA Kompatibilität sowie Foto-/Videofunktionen. Zusätzlich scheint Apple daran interessiert, wie iPod Käufer ihr Mobiltelefon benutzen:
"Apple is interested to know what you are doing with your mobile phone, what are its functionalities; and finally if the iPod has now its own independent from the rest of Apple products (if it has its own marketing life)."

Der Tagesspiegel über eine weitere Verzögerung (+Preisgestaltung) des iTMS Europa:
„Die Verhandlungen mit den nationalen Urheberrechtsgesellschaften gestalten sich schwieriger als erwartet“, sagte Apple-Deutschland-Chef Frank Steinhoff dem Tagesspiegel. „Technisch ist alles fertig, aber es gibt rechtliche Probleme in den einzelnen Ländern.“[...]
Zu welchem Preis iTunes in Deutschland Downloads anbieten werde, hänge von den Gebühren an die Verwertungsgesellschaften ab, sagte Steinhoff. „99 Cent pro Song wären sicher auch für unsere deutschen Kunden wünschenswert.“ Der deutsche Apple-Chef deutete aber an, dass der Endkundenpreis einschließlich der Mehrwertsteuer auch höher sein könne."

Sony's erster HD-basierter MP3 Player soll im Juni für rund 470$ auf den japanischen Markt kommen, 20 GB umfassen und sowohl größer als auch schwerer als der vergleichbare iPod sein, mehr bei MacCentral:

"The keypad is sure to be a point of contention for some folks, with its far from traditional layout. I think most people will fairly quickly get used to it, though. It is not so drastic a change as we saw with the 3650, and while it is a bit confusing visually at first, I managed to get the hang of it.
